How does your garden grow? If you're new to gardening or wondering how to have a successful vegetable garden, join UNA resident and UBC researcher Risa Sargent, who will be sharing her tips and tricks about soil and soil amendments, what to grow, plant spacing and sun requirements, and managing common issues without chemicals. **Location Change: Due to rain we will move this event into the Art Room in Wesbrook Community Centre** Risa Sargent is an associate professor in the Plant Science program in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC. Her research focuses on how agricultural systems can be designed and managed to minimize disruptions to critical ecosystem services such as pollination. A lifelong gardener, she has a passion for sustainable urban food systems. Lab webpage: https://www.landfood.ubc.ca/risa-sargent/ This workshop is free, registration is required. ---- The UNA has taken careful considerations following B.C.
