This lecture, presented by Ying Zhou, will focus on the structure and functions of the Canadian government: Canada is a federal country with a three-level government system: the federal government, provincial/territorial governments, and municipal/local governments. Each level has its own constitutionally defined responsibilities. The lecture will include a detailed explanation of the role of a Member of Parliament’s office and the functions of the UNA board. The Canadian federal electoral system: electoral process, vote counting and seat allocation, and the formation and operation of the government. The lecture will include a Q&A session. Tea, coffee, and light refreshments will be provided free of charge. Registration is required.
