About this Course

This new free series program is designed for newcomers to the province in recent 5 years or anyone believes they need newcomer supports. Navigating the Canadian health system can be complicated for newcomers who aren't familiar. In this workshop, we will explore the BC health system. Starting from hospitals, primary care, and seeking out specialists, to extended care provided by private pay health workers. We will go over how to get referrals for your specific needs, how to advocate for yourself to get specific services you need (e.g. translation services), and other topics that may be of help to you. Tea and Coffee will be provided.
