Taking care of our well-being has never been so important! Join Skillfully Responding to Distress to learn practical tools that support managing emotions, fostering healthy relationships and coping with the unique stressors of these times. Half-day (4 hour), interactive session will prepare participants to skillfully respond to and de-escalate emotional distress. This workshop is interactive and includes group discussions, polls, videos, and small group work. Content includes understanding the stress response, active listening, applying a crisis intervention model, facilitating the development of a short-term coping plan for a person in crisis, boundary setting, and self-care. Participants will receive a certificate for completing this workshop (good to put on a resume or an application). Email Hal.lackie@myuna.ca if you have any trouble registering.
