Growing your own plants from seeds is a fun way to make gardening more affordable and to learn about plant life cycles, support pollinators and reduce waste. This workshop will introduce participants to the idea of growing plants from seed and provide them with the opportunity to create a seed-starting case made of re-used materials as well as discuss gardening and sustainability with fellow gardeners. What does growing plants from seed require, and what kind of difference can it make in the world? What can we learn from making do with the materials we have, rather than always purchasing something new? Join our workshop host, Dr. Erin Despard, former Artist in Residence at UBC Botanical Garden, for this educational and inspiring conversation about growing plants and making do. --- Workshop cost is $3. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. If cost is an issue, please email robyn.chan@myuna.ca.
