Interested in working with your neighbours on climate action, but don’t know where to start? Need ideas for projects to work on together? Join our Sustainability Session on Neighbourhood Climate Action on Thursday, October 20 from 12:00-1:00pm. This virtual lunch & learn will feature local experts Cheryl Ng (Cool ‘Hood Champs) and Jim Boothroyd (Project Green Bloc) as they share their learnings and best practices on activating neighbours to take on climate action together. Having worked in environmental education & engagement for 6 years in Singapore, the UK, and Canada, she brings her adaptability and cultural sensitivity to her engagement role here. Cheryl currently leads the Cool ‘Hood Champs program in Vancouver, which has trained over 100 local residents to become climate champions in their neighbourhoods since 2020. Jim Boothroyd is an environmental engagement expert, including past Director of Communications and Engagement at the David Suzuki Foundation, and now founder of EcoAnalytics, a cooperative market research initiative supporting Canada's environmental movement. He is also the author of Project Green Bloc, a neighbourhood-based project designed to inspire neighbours to take action and reduce their ecological footprints.
